Hello!
I’d like to introduce myself.  My name is Korin and I am a married woman and mother of 3 who loves learning about any-and every-thing related to skincare, beauty, and general overall success in well-being.

The purpose of this blog is to share with every Fabulous Seeker out there  my discoveries as I constantly search for ways to achieve a more knowledgeable  approach to beauty, balance, and being –in every sense of the word- FABULOUS.

So here I am, someone who understands the questions and doubts of us female consumers, with so much information being thrown our way from every magazine, commercial, and checkout stand we encounter. And on the other hand, I’ve spent 20+ years perfecting my 3000BC brand of products with both a botanical and clinical line, and I am proud to say I opened the FIRST aromatherapy spa in the USA! Also, Monday through Friday I work from our corporate headquarters at 3000BC, where I spend the majority of my week listening to and learning from our skincare advisors, guests and coworkers, especially the 3000BC medical estheticians.  I also am finding answers, from valuable resources all around me.  And I am so excited to have this opportunity to share my findings with other Seekers like me.  After all who, if given the knowledge of how, doesn’t love feeling Fabulous?

Skin Resurgence

You’ve heard it before:

Put this magical potion or that amazing serum on your skin and in an instant you’ll look years younger!

…but how often does that work?  And more importantly, how often does it LAST?

I am all for tips and tricks to perk up one’s appearance in a hurry, but let’s be honest, none of those tricks actually help to correct the problems my skin faces…excuse the pun…I couldn’t resist.  In my quest for those long-term fixer-uppers, again and again I see the following three products recommended by dermatologists, medical aestheticians, and women who have tried them and know first-hand that they work:

1. Retinol…pretty much does everything.  Seriously…EVERYTHING.  It speeds up cell turnover which means new, youthful skin constantly rising to the surface.  It also means that it helps smooth existing fine lines and wrinkles, clear out pores and help with acne, and works on getting rid of sun spots and other discolorations in the skin.  Also, because retinol is the non-presciption strength version of the dermatologist-prescribed Retinoid, there will be less redness and peeling involved.  Still, to help calm the skin, look for one with Green Tea and/or Caffeine in it.
2. Vitamin C…when it is bottled correctly- so that the integrity of it is kept in-tact- this product does an incredible job of protecting the skin from the one thing that ages it most quickly: free radicals, or as we know it, crap that’s in our environment.  It’s also especially important if you are using a retinol product, because the new cells coming to the surface need protection from the dangers everyone’s skin comes in contact with, no matter where you live.  Recommendation: do your research on this product because this is definitely one of those products that will be a waste of time and money if it’s not quality.  Aka, resist the urge to buy that cheaper drugstore version. For example, our Skin Resurgence is a great vitamin C product. It has a cult like following!
3. Glycolic Acid…a chemical form of exfoliation that works great to remove any dead or drying skin, soften the overall texture, and even out skin tone.  Perhaps the main attraction, though, is its ability to stimulate collagen and elastin production which helps to smooth fine lines and wrinkles.  This invaluable ingredient comes in all sorts of forms- night creams for those with dryer skin and pads for those with more oily or acneaic skin.  It’s also a great alternative for those whose skin doesn’t respond well to retinol.

3 awesome approaches, and 3 great starting places for working on taking years off your skin and preventing future signs of aging…But let’s  be honest…there’s more than 3 ways to love your skin…

My best advice-

-Keep doing your research!

-Try these products one at a time to see what is working and what isn’t.  (And remember to be consistent, and don’t give up after 1 or 2 weeks if you are not seeing results.  These products are meant to have amazing results but they often take time to really affect the skin.)

October brought a last minute hectic snow storm to the Philadelphia area.  Many people were shocked at the early snow fall.   But after the month we had, nothing surprises us.  We saw an amazing month.
